Le Portage Golf Club ($$) – ApexGolf Partner

Red: 4,980 yards
White: 6,017 yards
Black: 6,800 yards

After a more challenging 2024 season, 2025 marks a true renewal. With a new superintendent in place, course conditions have returned to an impressive level.

The front nine features several demanding par 4s that require precise shot placement. It’s a course that rewards strategy more than raw power.

The team of Dany Rousseau (GM), Simon Forest (Golf Director) and Alex Beauregard (Head Professional) stands out for its dynamism, unique events and involvement with young golfers.

A fast-growing club that deserves to be rediscovered. Add to this an unrivalled driving range and one of the most unique chipping zones in Quebec. Even a simple workout there becomes a real pleasure!

Club de Golf Montcalm – Partner ApexGolf ($$)

Seigneurie Course
Red: 4,969 yards
White: 5,466 yards
Gold: 6,540 yards

Canton Course
Red: 4,536 yards
White: 5,222 yards
Gold: 6,307 yards

Montcalm is two courses, two personalities.

Canton demands precision and control, with its narrower fairways and demanding greens. La Seigneurie is longer, more strategic, with more obstacles to deal with.

Always a family business, the Gaudet family is renowned for its exceptional hospitality. Their friendly team makes all the difference from the moment you arrive at the course. You immediately feel the friendly atmosphere, and the equally magnificent course completes the experience perfectly. Add to that one of the region’s finest clubhouses, and you’ve got a St-Ligouri must-see!

An excellent choice for a variety of challenges on the same day.

Club de Golf MATHA ($$$ cart often included) – Partner ApexGolf

Red: 4,726 yards
White: 5,662 yards
Black: 6,504 yards

Matha has become a true golf destination in Quebec. Clubhouse improvements, heated terrace and markedly improved conditions in recent years.

The natural relief and signature holes offer spectacular panoramic views. It’s a journey that’s lived as much as played.

Yes, the cart is recommended. But take time to enjoy the experience. Matha isn’t just a round, it’s a day.

Center de Golf Lanaudière ($) – Partner ApexGolf

Blue Course
Red: 2,460 yards
White: 3,101 yards
Blue: 3,350 yards

White Course
Red: 2,542 yards
White: 3,117 yards
Blue: 3,398 yards

Red Course
Red: 2,463 yards
White: 3,018 yards
Blue: 3,226 yards

Another family course that stands out for its simplicity and accessibility. Unpretentious, it’s undoubtedly one of the most affordable courses in the region, offering value for money that’s hard to beat (we’ll tell you more about it very soon 😉 ).

The Charron family can be proud of what they’ve built here: a welcoming club, one of the finest driving ranges in the region and three completely different 9-hole courses, each as enjoyable as the next.

In short, it’s the ideal place to start golfing, but also for the passionate golfer who wants to play regularly without compromise. Alex, who was once one of the region’s top players in his youth, now looks after a golf academy in excellent hands.

Club de Golf Joliette ($$$) – Partner ApexGolf

Red: 4,715 yards
White: 5,922 yards
Black: 6,640 yards

Probably the most famous course in the region, Club de Golf Joliette is a true Lanaudière mainstay. Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the club confirms its status as an institution.

The course is mature, strategic and always impeccably maintained. Each hole requires thought, management and precision.

With a solid team led by Caroline as general manager and Billy Houle as professional, recognized as one of Quebec’s finest golfers, the experience goes beyond the simple round of golf. Service, welcome and quality conditions are an integral part of the visit.

A must for every serious golfer.

Club de Golf L’Épiphanie ($$)

Red: 4,997 yards
White: 5,833 yards
Black: 6,626 yards

Located about 30 minutes from Montreal in the Lanaudière region, this semi-private golf club offers a challenging, well-maintained 18-hole course with a par 72 and nearly 6,600 yards of play. The course design is varied, open to golfers of all levels, with well-designed fairways, strategic obstacles and mature trees adding character and making every round enjoyable.

Club de Golf Link O’Loup (Louiseville) ($)

Red: 5,449 yards
White: 6,127 yards
Black: 6,479 yards

A rather unique course nestled in a village where few would even suspect the presence of a golf course. Links O’Loup offers a true “links” style experience: an open layout shaped by the wind, where tall grasses replace traditional tree-lined holes and strategy takes precedence over power.

With its interesting gradients and sometimes formidable greens, the course offers a challenge as stimulating as it is enjoyable. Once again, we’re talking about a sure bet, remaining one of the best value for money in the region.

Base de Roc ($$)

Red: 5,093 yards
White: 6,059 yards
Black: 6,487 yards

Located in the beautiful Lanaudière region, this 18-hole par 72 course offers a complete and varied experience for all levels of player. Bordered by the majestic Rivière L’Assomption and punctuated by numerous water and sand obstacles, the layout offers a captivating diversity of holes that makes each round unique.

The club, founded in the 70s by the St-Amour family, has been carefully designed and maintained to a standard worthy of a private club, while remaining accessible to the general public. It also features all the essential amenities: a welcoming chalet, an inviting pro store, solid training facilities and well-designed practice areas.

Special mention goes to Club de Golf de Berthier, which plans to reopen for the 2027 season. Rumours are already circulating about the beauty and quality of the course being prepared. Without being able to confirm anything at the moment, we have the feeling that it will live up to, if not exceed, expectations.

Conclusion

The Lanaudière region offers one of the finest concentrations of golf courses near Montreal. From top-of-the-range courses to affordable family clubs, there’s something to suit every golfer’s style and budget.

Whether you’re competitive, strategic or simply passionate, Lanaudière deserves a place on your golfing calendar this season.
